In today’s article, we are going to explain everything you need to know to insert both Roman Numerals and English numbers (or Arabic numerals) as page numbers in one Microsoft Word document. See the next Annoyance for details.Long Microsoft Word documents such as detailed project quotations, student’s project works or thesis, proposals, annual reports, product manuals, technical white papers, and so on require formal features like page numbers to help the reader navigate the document easily. To create a different header or footer in a section, you must break the default link to the previous section's header or footer.Īnother option that's often useful is to use the same header or footer throughout a document, but insert in it the closest heading of a particular level. The Layout tab of the Page Setup dialog box is the place to start arranging complex headers and footers.įigure 4-19.
